Service Dogs Are Exempt from Breed Bans
The Department of Justice is explicitly clear: municipalities and businesses cannot ban or exclude a service dog based entirely on its breed. Even in cities with strict Breed-Specific Legislation (BSL) or "pit bull bans," valid service dogs are fully exempt. A service dog can only be excluded based on its actual individual behavior, never on generalizations about its appearance.
